This family is truly living a life of color! Tonia, Sean and their four children invited us to photograph their vibrant RiNo family photos, so of course, we said yes! Denver’s RiNo Arts District proved the perfect spot for this family because it matched their bright personalities and expressive dispositions.
Engagement season is almost upon us, and what better way to celebrate than champagne on this cold January day at Clear Creek? It’s always a pleasure for us to contribute to building long-lasting relationships — so here’s to you, Danielle & Eli! Clear Creek Clear Creek is a small brook that runs through Golden, CO that offers scenic richness and beauty to the surrounding areas. During the summer, people can come to the creek to fish, kayak, and even inner-tube in the creek’s waters. The trail that runs along the creek also offers a great path for runners and bikers alike. Get some more information on Clear Creek here! During the winter months, Clear Creek county (which is a bit farther west from Denver) offers some great holiday events that can help you get into high winter spirits. The winter months in Colorado bring forth a great combination of sunlight and snow. The mountains near Golden provide some great background for our sessions. Check out some of our other shoots that took place in Golden here! Champagne and Cuddles Honestly, what could be better? Well, a dog could never hurt! This couple’s +1 was the cutest — we love having pets in
A cute new face has blessed Colorado, and we were so grateful to capture the newborn-cuteness of baby Kal in this cutely themed newborn photoset! Parents, Katie and Ryan, graciously invited us into their home to capture some blissful and candid moments, and we loved every bit of it! If you want to see some more adorable photos, click here! A Family in Blue Newborn photo shoots are always heartwarming and special, and our session with Katie, Ryan, and Kal was no different! We could tell that Katie and Ryan were loving parents from the start because of the way Kal laid so calmly in their arms. However, you can also see this in their clothes! It is said that the color blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness, and what a fit for Kal’s personality! It’s a bird! No, it’s a plane! No, wait — it’s Superman! Kal is absolutely adorable in his Superman outfit, and it looks like Ryan will have to start studying his crash course! Costumes are always a great addition to a newborn photo session. Not only do they enhance the photo session by providing a theme, but they also make for very cute
Freshly fallen February snow is entirely underrated! There is truth to the cliché of “winter wonderland,” and today we will prove it to you. These three, beautiful women invited us to capture their family photos at Kendrick Lake Park in Lakewood, Colorado. Based on these glowing family photos and their abundant smiles, we are convinced a winter flurry has just as much magic as a sky of stars! Snow… in the Park! Kendrick Lake Park, like many Colorado parks, is stocked full of biking and walking paths, beautiful vegetation, a peaceful lake, and playgrounds for all! While many might not think to go to the park after the warm spring and summer months, parks like this prove the most stunning locations for fall and winter family photography. The sky stayed blue and the snow reflected the day’s light like a dream! Three Musketeers Walking paths and snowy bridges proved ideal photography settings while powdered trees and snow-covered fields made stunning backdrops. Furthermore, these three ladies are just about as charming as Christmas morning! Their color coordination of jeans, blacks, and whites made a beautiful collage of wintery hues. They are beautiful, loving, and giggled throughout the whole day. They even
Once upon a time, on a brisk November day, Nora and Dom said their “I Do’s” under sparkling chandeliers and among friends and family. We went back to one of our favorite wedding venues, the Lionsgate Event Center to photograph this charming wedding. Lionsgate Highlights Lionsgate Event Center, located in Lafayette, Colorado, offers a clean and brilliant space for any occasion in any style! Grand staircases make way for the bride’s princess train, and white chairs match white-slatted windows and swooping ceilings. Plus, every princess needs her magical chandeliers! Lionsgate has those too, and Dora looked radiant under the glittering lights and crystal. The outdoor space is just as fantastic as the inside – trust us! The place has a style that combines rustic architecture with splendid castles fit for royalty. Guests can enjoy both glam and comfort in this space with its winding stone pathways and bending trees. Check out the other Lionsgate events we have photographed here! Putting the “Charm” in Prince Charming But enough about the venue – Nora and Dom looked like Princess and her Prince Charming all night long! Nora wore a princess ball gown decorated in delicate lace and crystals. Her bouquets had a moody,
Classic with a twist? That’s exactly how we would describe Nathalia and Nathan’s Saint Malo’s Chapel wedding. This day was bright and brilliant among every stone, mountain, and corner. Congratulations to the newlyweds! The Classic In addition to having dangerously similar names, this couple’s harmony with one another was nothing ordinary. Somehow they each embellished themselves in personal touches like bowties and red lipstick, yet they fit together as well as the stained glass pieces of the chapel. Saint Malo’s Chapel on the Rock in Allenspark, Colorado, is considered a state landmark not just because of its longstanding history with the Catholic church. This chapel rests at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains like a sleeping giant. The chapel’s stone exterior dating back to 1939 provided earthy, cool backdrops for the happy couple. And if you think that’s spectacular, wait until you see the breathtaking stained glass art inside! Check out some of our other favorite venues here! The Twist We thought Nathalia looked so elegant in a fitted wedding dress and simple pearls. Her shimmery auburn hair and red-tinted lipstick made her classically beautiful on the inside and out! Nathan wore a timeless tux with a fun bowtie because ~why
A piggyback ride and some monkey-ing around never hurt anybody! In fact, it’s goofy moments like those that bring a family together and make life sweet. Bethany and Joe’s family photo session at Meyer Ranch Park in Morrison, Colorado was anything but boring and serious. This family of four is just about as cute as it gets! The Location Meyer Ranch Park, as these photos prove, is not only a breathtaking outdoor location among changing fall leaves. This 624-acre park has 4.1 trail miles for walkers, hikers, bikers, and horse riders. Filled with aspen groves and pine forests, this place is sure to fill your lungs with crisp fall air and shadowy soft light. Goofy Games Given these fun outdoor features this park has to offer, it’s no surprise we were excited to join Bethany and Joe and their two children in the park for some picture-worthy shenanigans. If there’s one thing parents love most, it’s the sound of their children’s laughter. Bethany and Joe’s daughter and son were giggle monsters the entire time. Mom’s tickle fights and Dad’s upside down games are sure to make anyone laugh uncontrollably! While we swooned over this family’s silly fun, we couldn’t help
When Annie and Adam asked us to capture their family photos, we jumped at the opportunity — especially since the session was in their backyard!! If one thing is for certain, we are entirely obsessed with this personal backyard session with this family of five, and we are so excited to share these photos with you! The Backyard Bunch This awesome family’s backyard looked absolutely spectacular in the November sun! We utilized the fresh outside air and their Japanese architecture to get some incredible fall shots. Their stunning Japanese engawa porch framed the family just right, giving both a backdrop and a little taste of their family personality. These guys really know how to play with color, too. While nature’s trees exploded in yellows, reds, and oranges, the family wore deep blues and blacks for a contrasting effect. Mom and dad beamed in each other’s arms, and when the time came to bring their kids in, everyone looked both related and painfully beautiful. One thing’s for sure: the good genes stayed in the family! While mom and dad looked lovely, the three kids were just as sweet and likable as their parents. The family dog, Bruce Lee, even made a few
Rustic barrels and illuminated ampersands helped make Kristina and James’ big day a beary foxy wedding! We had the honor of photographing this couple in two favorite wedding Colorado locations! Lily Lake in Estes Park, Colorado hosted the ceremony (check out our other Estes Park sessions here). Then, Frasca Food and Wine catered the reception near Boulder, Colorado. Their guests were charming and their love was as bright as the smiles on their faces! A Foxy Aesthetic If there’s one thing we embrace wholeheartedly, it’s a love of life and taste for all things whimsical. And perfect enough, everything about Kristina and James’ wedding was completely fun and creative! Their Estes Park ceremony featured a backdrop of wooden barrels and a purple light that matched the bouquets and wedding party’s dresses. No need for a whole party of bridesmaids and groomsmen: these two took the spotlight side by side and said their vows with truth and a healthy dose of jokes, too. Kristina’s adorable 18-month-old niece looked just about as beautiful as her stunning aunt. Her little white dress and purple hair flower fit right in as she danced, giggled, and even napped with her lovable family. Of course, we can’t forget
Do you want to take some family photos but are worried how the pictures will turn out? Are you stressed about trying to organize a family of five, six, seven or more into a balanced and good-looking photo? Have no fear! We have some tips for photographing a big family! Balance is Key If you only absorb one thing from this post, remember this: it’s all about balance, balance, balance! The perfect picture — no matter if it’s a portrait, a landscape, or anything in between — must look balanced and equalized. The human eye likes symmetry and stability. Basically, we don’t like to look at something that’s a little off or tilted. Because balance is key, it’s important to know that you can balance your pictures in a variety of ways. Color scheme, levels, and varied body positions all can be toyed with to make things look a little more clean-cut and equalized. This family helps us make our case with their family photo shoot at Denver’s Millennium Bridge! With a family of six, you can imagine it can be a little tricky to organize this crew into some organized pictures. However, our job was not as difficult as
