Weddings don’t always have to be massive, expensive, all day events with hundreds of guests and multiple venues. We believe weddings should represent your love and personality as a couple. Lee and Cesar are the perfect example of how they made their special day completely their own with an intimate backyard wedding in Denver that we were honored to capture.
Lee and Cesar first locked eyes during a salsa dancing class. What a romantic way to start out a ‘how we met’ love story!
Before the ceremony, we met with Lee and Cesar at Belmar Park, which was across the street from their ceremony location. We photographed this soon-to-be-married couple away from their guests to perfectly capture the sentimental start to their wedding day. Instead of opting for a traditional first look, these two just wanted some time to relax and enjoy the per-ceremony moments together. We love this idea! Private couple’s photos prior to the ceremony, or even the day before the big celebration, are a memorable way to destress with your significant other.
We timed their photos perfectly because we caught the gorgeous sunset at Belmar Lake! Hand holding on the boardwalk, walks around the banks, and whispered sweet nothings were in abundance. Lee looked absolutely radiant in her white wedding gown as she danced with Cesar by the lakeshore. Wedding dress twirls paired with the sun setting on the lake really made for some magical wedding photos! Swoon!
The small ceremony and reception took place outside at Cesar’s sister’s house in Lakewood, CO. As a result, their special day was both private and cost effective. And by keeping the guest count low, the couple was able to make sure they could spend quality time with each and every one of their guests during their dance-packed reception. You could clearly see the happiness and love felt by everyone in attendance! Already having developed impressive salsa dancing skills, these two showed off their moves throughout their fun and intimate backyard wedding.
