This love story is one of our favorites! Ben & Justin's wedding at their favorite brewery was a perfect opportunity for them to start their happily ever after.
Elegance in every twirl and tenderness in every kiss, Maureen and Andres’ engagement session at Clear Creek Trail was magic fit for a king and queen. These two looked stunning at this park in Golden, Colorado, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day with them. These lovebirds gleamed with joy at the prospect of their coming marriage, and we were happy to capture the moment! Clear Creek Class The Clear Creek trail is a favorite of ours, and one we return to time and time again. This October photo shoot gave us trees of bright yellow and orange. The creek’s water in the afternoon sun gave this couple regal halos and sparkling backdrops that we couldn’t pass up! And while the trail is full of walking trails and very close to the quaint town of Golden, the park is perfect for a photo shoot for any occasion, too. Check out Rachel and Justin’s maternity session at Clear Creek! Two Royal Sweethearts Maureen's long dress and elegant heels made her the most dazzling dancer in all the land. With Andres’ dapper suit and spunky red socks, this pair looked almost more perfect than the stunning Colorado backdrops we captured.
No photographer wants his or her subjects to look too staged, so casual and natural is always the goal for portraits. Members of the Stalling family were more than casual and natural – they were one of the most entertaining and lovable bunches we’ve ever had! On a glorious day, we captured their family photos at Wash Park, and we had so much fun! Family Fun! Siblings and cousins, parents and grandparents all huddled closely and giggled with every hug and nudge. While we of course captured some traditional photos of each family with poised smiles, we are never ones to pass up a “silly picture” – or multiple! The sisters nudged and embraced each other playfully, and their cousin even joined the goofiness! Mom and Dad were not afraid to join the fun either, and sweet smiles quickly evolved into outright laughter. Even Grandma and Grandpa proudly cuddled their family. Based on Grandma and Grandpa's genuine smiles, it is clear where the Stalling family got its zest for life! Someone put this couple in a Denver magazine! We love photographing breathtaking Colorado outdoors for any occasion. However, every once in a while, it’s nice to have a little taste of the city! We celebrated Traci and Andrew at their downtown Denver wedding at the Brown Palace Hotel, and wow was it incredible! A Denver Dream Laced in gold and with hints of timeless elegance, this wedding was one for the books. Traci and Andrew welcomed family, friends and even their beloved dog to one of Denver’s oldest, most popular event venues. The Brown Palace Hotel proved the perfect spot for everything from bridal party shots to the ceremony. Located in the heart of the city, nearly everything guests might want is within walking distance: restaurants, museums, bars, music, shopping and more! Friends and family were so bubbly that nearly every shot was a candid one – and that’s not a bad thing! Andrew and the groomsmen looked sharp in their black tuxedos and bowties. “Nothing can dim the light that comes from within,” Maya Angelo once said. Wow was she right—especially when it comes to Katy and Dan’s exciting news! Their party of two is becoming a party of three! We went back to Lost Gulch Overlook for this couple’s maternity session, and it was something extraordinary. Majestic Magic What’s the big deal about Lost Gulch Overlook anyway? For one thing, this setting is a familiar one for our From the Hip Photo fam (see our sunrise shoot at this location here)! Moreover, it never fails to take our breath away thanks to stunning views (and maybe a little altitude)? Located on Flagstaff Mountain near Boulder, Colorado, this location is accessible, popular and provides unbeatable landscapes and vistas. While the essence of this session was to capture Katy and Dan as happy, budding parents, this shoot was like something out of a movie or a music video. I mean seriously — Katy looked freaking majestic in her floor-length dress and tastefully braided hair. Dan’s tall build and wide smile made him the gentle giant who clearly loves and adores his wife and his upcoming little one! As photographers, we are so lucky to help couples
We were on cloud nine with Jordan and Daniel’s magical engagement photos at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park! We already love this location (as you can see from our previous post here), but this couple’s electric disposition made this session enchanting and totally out-of-this-world. The two are not only clear advocates of color and brilliance, but their affection for each other was quite possibly the most eye-catching of all. An Outdoor Outing Located in Evergreen, Colorado, this park hosted the most incredible pictures for Jordan and Daniel. With acres numbering nearly 770, this park has every vibe to offer. First, we explored the park’s trails and rocky plateaus so Jordan’s bright blue dress and Daniel’s dark-toned outfit would stand out. The park’s earthy greys and greens painted the perfect Colorado picture for this couple’s images! After the trails, we visited the park’s more rustic and western flares such as a wooden barn. Here, the couple melded like yin and yang in their black and white tones against beautiful wood. The wood even made the most ideal ring holder for Jordan's rock. We may be biased since we are frequent visitors of Cherry Creek Reservoir, but this place really does have it all: waterfronts, country western wooden fences, fields of wildflowers, and dense forests. The newest addition to this family was just welcomed into the world and Ying and Erik invited us to take their newborn photos. If there’s anything we love more than photography, it’s an adorable, growing family – baby, dog and all! A Happy Home Ying and Erik welcomed us into their beautiful home to meet not just their little guy, but their two other four-legged friends. This RiNo engagement shoot was absolutely perfect for our fun and quirky couple, Laura and Shon! Walking the streets of the RiNo Art District will easily brighten anyone's day thanks to the colorful and lively art that fills the neighborhood. RiNo Art District Located in Five Points, just north of Downtown Denver, the RiNo Art District is home to art galleries, studio spaces, and artists of all types. The beautiful murals throughout this district aren't the only things that make this a must-go place to visit. The RiNo Art District has a variety of hip restaurants and bars which make it the best place to explore and try new things. One of our favorite places to visit is Ratio Beerworks which perfectly combines live music and beer for an ideal night out. If you are wandering around RiNo during the day, make sure you go and check out the Denver Zine Library.
