Mountain towns have a very whimsical feel that turns into full blown magic when you add in a surprise proposal! From The Hip Photo loves outdoor anything, but we especially love a mountain town engagement! Tobie and Lindsi were enjoying the winter enchantment Aspen, Colorado has to offer when Tobie surprised his beloved by getting down on one knee and popping the question! Lindsi’s mom and Tobie teamed up with us to plan the whole proposal for a woman they both love dearly.
Though they live in texas, Tobie was fortunate enough to have grown up in the beautiful town of Aspen. Lindsi’s family flew to Colorado from Texas to surprise the newly engaged couple, as well as enjoy a celebratory champagne toast. Luckily, Tobie’s dad owns a sushi restaurant, so the celebration bubbly was aplenty! However, that wasn’t the only drink they toasted with! Aspen’s Snowmass ski resort offers free hot chocolate at the bottom of the ski lift. Free hot chocolate + a beautiful newly engaged couple = pure magic!
The neutralness of their outfits only added to the winter charm of the rather large mountain town. The duo gave off a very warm, wintery vibe which paired well with the snow-dusted pines around them. Being a historical town, there is still a lot of older architecture. Plus, there are colorfully painted advertisement murals on some of the brick buildings. Together, the couple made the old-timey town feel modern and romantic. We loved the pops of red in Lindsi’s outfit! Not to mention, Tobie picked out a to-die-for ring! Pear shaped engagement rings are a modern take on a classic style.
A day filled with a mountain town engagement, hot chocolate, sushi, champagne, and your family is definitely one for the books.
