Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Frisco Day Lodge

The Frisco Day Lodge provided the perfect backdrop for Danielle and Stephen’s wedding ceremony and celebration. With lush greenery, mountain views, and a warm, intimate atmosphere, you couldn’t really ask for a better mountain wedding venue. Their ceremony was sweet and very reminiscent of the couple’s personality. A close friend officiated the wedding and did her best to keep her eyes dry, but it wasn’t easy! Danielle and Stephen are truly a perfect match — Rambo approved! They danced the night away with their loved ones and enjoyed Little Man ice cream, a highlight of the evening that had everyone smiling.

Wedding Photography FAQs for Mountain Weddings in Frisco & Summit County

What’s It Like to Get Married in Frisco, Colorado?

Frisco is a charming mountain town at 9,075 feet elevation in Summit County. It offers stunning natural beauty, iconic landmarks like the Breckenridge troll, and incredible venues like the Frisco Day Lodge. The town combines intimate charm with world-class mountain scenery, making it perfect for weddings that feel both sophisticated and fun. Local amenities, nearby accommodations, and scenic photography locations make Frisco an increasingly popular destination wedding spot.

What’s the Best Time of Year for a Mountain Wedding in Summit County?

Summer (June through September) is peak wedding season in Summit County, with warm temperatures and reliable weather. June and September offer slightly smaller crowds and beautiful golden light. Fall (late September through October) brings stunning aspen colors and crisp air. While winter weddings are possible, weather can be unpredictable at this elevation. Spring (May-early June) can be hit-or-miss weather-wise but offers beautiful wildflowers.

How Do I Find a Wedding Photographer for a Destination Colorado Wedding?

Look for photographers with specific experience in your chosen location and at your venue. Ask about their familiarity with mountain lighting, elevation, and seasonal conditions. Request a portfolio showing similar weddings, and discuss logistics like travel, timeline, and how they’ll handle weather challenges. Local photographers know the best photo spots and can navigate the unique demands of mountain weddings.

How Far Is Frisco from Denver?

Frisco is approximately 75-80 miles west of Denver, about a 90-minute to 2-hour drive depending on traffic and road conditions. The scenic drive up I-25 and I-70 offers beautiful views, especially in autumn. Many guests fly into Denver and make the drive up to the mountains. Accommodations are available both in Frisco and nearby mountain towns like Breckenridge, Keystone, and Dillon.

What Are the Top Tips for Planning a Mountain Wedding?

Consider elevation when planning activities and menus. Book venues and vendors well in advance, especially for summer dates. Have a weather backup plan. Schedule your photo session strategically to capture the best light. Provide clear directions and travel information for guests. Work with vendors experienced in mountain logistics. Understand how mountain weather affects your photography, and plan your timeline accordingly.
