Do you love the fall, and want to photograph your family or loved ones during the peak of autumn color? Are you hoping to make the most of your fall season by capturing some unbeatable photos? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, you are in luck! We have written a blog post on fall photography tips for you! Read this “how-to” guide to make your autumn photos turn out the best they can be! Lighting is Key One of photography’s most important considerations is lighting. While paying attention to lighting is crucial in every photo shoot, it is especially so during fall sessions. Autumn’s natural colors are reds, golds, and yellows which have the potential to either overpower or enhance natural lighting. While outdoors trying to capture that stunning gold light, make sure you either use the sun as an illuminant for the colors or a tool for silhouettes. You can get some great pictures with a bright orange backdrop if you angle the lighting just right. You can also capture some stunning silhouette pictures with a halo glow depending on your angle. Whatever you do: chase fall light with caution! Utilize Leaves! Everyone knows that the
Jeff and Hannah are getting married, and they wanted our help shooting their engagement photos at Red Rocks Amphitheatre! And you know what they say… red (rocks) is for love! From photographing their engagement to their wedding, we have made a great friendship with these two! Now it’s three years since their engagement, and they are back with a baby bump! Alexandra and Noam are expecting, and we went to photograph their maternity photos at Lost Gulch Overlook! Look Who’s Back, Back Again! Lost Gulch Overlook near Boulder is a frequent spot for us for so many reasons. As you can see from all our other Lost Gulch photo sessions, this spot is ideal for any occasion! Colorado mountain views? Check. Sunrise and sunset glows? Check. Wooded hideaways? Also check. No matter the time of year or the occasion, Lost Gulch is kind of our not-so-secret spot, and Alexandra and Noam were the perfect subjects! Our #womancrushwednesday goes out to Simona and Steph from PopFitGo! Earlier this year we had the privilege of photographing these women’s editorial, styled shoot. With the goal of showcasing their fitness brand, these two barre instructors looked fierce and fire in both rolling hills and studio! On the Move! You can get a good workout just about anywhere if you look for it. We traveled around various Colorado locations with these women to show just how versatile your workout routine (and clothing) can be! First, we got some majestic shots on Caribou City, Colorado. This abandoned ghost town is just 20 miles west of Boulder, so of course, we had to take advantage of it! Old brick buildings and expansive Colorado landscapes made these fit and fabulous ladies stand out! Next, we took our photo session to Moss Denver, a chic Denver venue in the Santa Fe Arts District. The place is used for both real and style shoots all the time! This place has giant brick walls and wooden furniture that look so natural with greenery and – yep, moss – all around. Simona and Steph got right into the barre groove in this studio space. Their breathable workout
As if taking pictures of happy families and smiling babies weren't precious enough, try adding special guests and props to your photo session for an even more adorable and personalized flare! With dogs, baby science books and (our favorite) a stuffed fox animal, the Jackson family proved undoubtedly unique in their family photos at Bluff Lake! If you haven't guessed, we loved capturing every second of this cute family session! Bluff Lake Nature Center: An Urban Escape for Denver Family Photography Sometimes the best photography happens when you step just slightly outside the city -- and Bluff Lake Nature Center, nestled in northeast Denver, offers exactly that experience. This 110-acre urban wildlife refuge provides dramatic natural scenery, peaceful lakeside trails, and an authentic "Colorado wilderness" feel that's only minutes from downtown. What makes Bluff Lake exceptional for family photography is the variety it offers. You'll find open meadows with unobstructed views, tree-lined paths that create intimate framing, a reflective lake that doubles as a beautiful natural backdrop, and genuine wildlife that adds authentic Colorado character to your images. Unlike some manicured parks, Bluff Lake feels genuinely wild -- which translates to authentic, non-staged family portraits. Bluff Lake's landscape changes beautifully throughout the seasons

Not too long ago we went with Katy and Dan to Lost Gulch Overlook to capture their maternity photos against Colorado’s kaleidoscope sunset skies. Then, a few months later we got to take the camera from Katy’s cute bump to this couple’s bundle of joy. We absolutely loved capturing photos of their baby girl at their home. Katy & Dan are clearly thrilled and excited to be parents! Nursery Knickknacks Katy & Dan, like many parents with their swoon-worthy infants, chose to utilize their own home for the setting of their photo shoot. In-home photography sessions are comfortable, sweet, and something you can cherish on your wall or bedside table no matter where you live or travel. Check out 6 Tips for Parents for a Successful Newborn Photo Session for inspiration! Katy & Dan’s newborn daughter looked like an angel surrounded by white bedding and walls decorated with subtle charms. Her bedroom was home to countless mementos of the past and tidbits of her future. For example, her hospital band sat beside an image of her beautiful, pregnant mother at Lost Gulch. Tastes of wood and greenery from succulents brightened the space alongside this girl’s already large collection of books. What
This RiNo engagement shoot was absolutely perfect for our fun and quirky couple, Laura and Shon! Walking the streets of the RiNo Art District will easily brighten anyone's day thanks to the colorful and lively art that fills the neighborhood. One of our favorite places to visit is Ratio Beerworks which perfectly combines live music and beer for an ideal night out. A drizzly forecast did not damper Mariah and Josh’s jubilant wedding day. In fact, clear umbrellas against misty mountains and an Estes Park venue like the Della Terra Mountain Chateau made the day more enchantingly magical than we’d ever witnessed before! Della Terra combines peaceful mountain terrain with exciting party-time vibes. So, the building’s stone and wood exterior made a perfect backdrop for this couple’s romantic photos. While outside drizzled rain, the inside venue glittered with hanging lights and lively guests brimming with smiles! Lucky for us, we got to witness it all! The Aesthetic To no one’s surprise, Mariah and Josh took this rather wet, chilly day and filled it with life. Mariah’s wedding dress was anything but ordinary. Its lace details and two-piece dress gave her all the ~spunk~. Josh looked dapper in his stylish, grey suit. Clear umbrellas and teal bridesmaid dresses made the wedding party pop, and making photos “pop” is what we do best. #CoupleGoals It was clear from the start that this couple thrives on fun, true love, and colorful Colorado. When asked what they most looked forward to for the wedding, they responded, “Saying our vows, seeing all our friends and family having fun,
