We’ve never seen engagement photos quite this blissfully sweet. Adeline and Josh celebrated their engagement among the the Colorado Rockies and a glistening Lake Dillon, and we have never swooned more. The couple was completely charming, silly and so playful. In every shot they gushed with love and celebrated with passion (and wine!) — and we were thrilled to be a part of this Lake Dillon engagement!
Colorado Roots!
Just outside of Frisco, Colorado, this scenic location at the Lake Dillon Marina is not new to From the Hip Photo. Remember Brianna and Ben‘s engagement last year? We sure do! This nature location is jaw-dropping and eye-catching not just because it of its breathtaking magic. The place also holds a special place in this couple’s heart since it displays the quintessential Colorado views they cherish.
Josh proposed at the top of Booth Falls, another stunning hike a little too high up for this October photo shoot. Still, the outdoors are always an ideal choice when it comes to capturing those intimate engagement pictures. The great outdoors has incredible lighting and colors fit for any scheme. Natural lighting, our cameras, and their love-able couple chemistry was a recipe for unbeatable perfection!
While their wedding will encapsulate Adeline’s Massachusetts background on a beach, these photos perfectly depict Josh’s Colorado roots. The suave colors of Adeline’s sweater and scarf worked well with the fall landscape. The October weather did not fail to remind us of Colorado’s frequent sunny forecasts. And as if the shoot couldn’t get any more splendid, these two beamed with smiles the whole time. With Colorado scenery and a love this genuine, how could you not?
Thank you, Adeline and Josh, for a day full of brilliance and love! We had so much fun watching you laugh, love and clink your wine glasses to your marriage to come! Congratulations!

Frequently Asked Questions
When should we schedule our engagement photos?
We recommend scheduling 2-3 months before your wedding. This allows time for proofs and prints, and engagement photos can be used for wedding stationery.
How long do engagement sessions take?
Most sessions run 1-2 hours, giving us time to capture images at multiple locations and in different lighting.
What should we wear?
Choose outfits that reflect your style and feel comfortable. We recommend coordinating colors rather than matching exactly. Layers work well for outdoor Denver sessions.
Can we use engagement photos for announcements?
Absolutely! Many couples use their engagement photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites, and social media announcements.
What if the weather isn’t perfect?
Colorado’s weather can be unpredictable. We’ll work with you to reschedule if needed, or we can embrace the elements for unique, moody shots.
