May 31st was ‘Yelp’s Oh Hey Summer Party’ where 1,000 of Colorado’s leading Yelpers and media influencers came to get their first taste of summer in the Mile High. Yelp Denver held their event in our very own Hangar at the Stanley Marketplace and, let us just say, it was LIT. If you happened to miss this magnificent event, have no fear, we, From the Hip Photo, had the opportunity snap some awesome pictures with our Yelp’s Oh Hey Summer Party Photo Booth featuring the magical LightWriter!
Hello Summer!
The Yelp’s Oh Hey Summer Party Photo Booth was no average photo booth… oh no! We got to capture really cool people embracing the summer vibes with the help of our handy-dandy LightWriter. The LightWriter captures images in a form of stop motion animation called light painting. We then put the photos in sequence, creating the optical illusion of movement for the viewer. Sounds sophisticated, right? Well, it was! We slowed the camera’s shutter speed to capture the movement of light, therefore providing some of the raddest backgrounds!
Best friends, families, and some of Denver’s most wonderful Yelpers gathered in front of our camera. They struck funny poses, danced to the live DJ, and threw up the peace sign. Due to lots of laughter and maybe a little bit of red canned wine from Infinite Monkey…everyone enjoyed the party.
We had quite the party at the Hangar, but it wouldn’t have been possible without such awesome vendors from local favs such as Chocolove, Breckenridge Distillery, and Biker Jims Gourmet Dogs, to our Stan Fam such as The Infinite Monkey Theorem, Cheluna Brewery, and Trunk Nouveau.
Not to mention, we were fortunate with the appearances made by the Denver Diamond Dolls and the Brass Band!
