Kelly & Chris | Their Vail Wedding’s One Year Anniversary

August 25, 2017 March 15, 2026 From the Hip Photo1 comment3552 views

We know for a fact that you all remember these two lovebird’s engagement! It’s hard to miss a beautiful couple looking red hot in a fire station. Are you ready to see them looking red hot again on their wedding day?!

We were lucky enough to capture timeless moments from their Vail mountain wedding one year ago! Note that “one year ago” was no typo…Kelly and Chris are celebrating their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Time sure does fly. Can you believe it’s been a year since August 27, 2016? Neither can we. We first met Kelly and Chris in April of 2016. This is where we shot their engagement photos in a Fort Collins firehouse. Chris, a firefighter, and Kelly, a local news anchor for CBS4 News combined, make the local power couple! We all know that Colorado is probably most gorgeous place to get married in

It is clear that Colorado is a gorgeous state to get married in. More specifically, the Donovan Pavillion in Vail, Colorado did not disappoint. Not to mention, all the gorgeous scenery for that matter! Kelly’s two piece dress was gorgeous, radiating elegance. A heart-shaped piece of blue fabric sewn to the waist of her dress, that held a lot of significance to Kelly. The blue fabric was a piece of a shirt that belonged to her late grandmother. We love how she utilized old wedding traditions, adding something blue to her wedding day that meant so much to her!

Different than most traditional weddings, Chris and his groomsmen had the most stylish socks we’ve ever seen, and we were huge fans of their suits! Get this, Chris wore fire extinguisher cufflinks. Our hearts melted too, it’s okay! It’s always fun to see how the groom and his groomsmen switch it up, and we love how Chris wore a dark blue suit and his closest buds wore dark gray. Kelly’s bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their different style dresses! Everyone in the wedding party looked so incredible for this Vail mountain wedding!

Can we just say, who doesn’t love a little DIY? It was so cool, and much more meaningful that the programs, seating chart, favors, and decor were all handcrafted. Who doesn’t love a little DIY? Getting crafty for your big day makes the day that much more special as there are little pieces created by you all over the place! Besides, what’s a Vail mountain wedding without a bunch of adorable decorations and a reception surrounded by towering mountains and hills?

Everything about Kelly and Chris’ big day was perfect. We’re so lucky to be able to see engaged couples buzzing about their big day and then seeing them walk down the aisle and say “I do”. However, we’re even luckier to celebrate their anniversaries! We’d like to wish a happy one-year anniversary to Kelly and Chris, and for many more happy years to come!

With all things considered, we’d like to give a big thank you to all the vendors that helped give this beautiful couple a perfect day! Gabby Greenleaf of Banks & Leaf for planning the perfect day, Taste 5 Catering for the delicious meal, Lace & Lilies for the gorgeous succulent filled florals, Erik from Greatime DJ for the awesome tunes, Jessica Cameron and Ally Triolo for the Kelly’s gorgeous hair and makeup, David’s Bridal, Marsha Hardy, and Vince Camuto,  for that elegant two-piece dress that we love so much as well as Kelly’s adorable heels, Men’s Warehouse for the dapper groom’s suit, and lastly, Ritani for the breathtaking bling! It was an honor for us to be part of such a gorgeous day!
