We need to check the Official From the Hip Photo Hall of Records, but our hunch is that this may have been our first newborn photo session with a couple who share the same name! Not only do they share the same name (give or take a vowel), they have a beautiful new baby girl together. The two mommies and their baby were the epitome of perfection! Kaylen and Kaylan’s little girl was such a good sleeper, snoozing through the majority of the photo session.
Their session took place the day after Halloween, so you know know we had to snap some shots of their newborn dressed for the holiday. She was… a string bean! We were lucky enough to get a picture of her in the darling knitted costume which consisted of a green sleeping bag-like blanket with a toggle fastener, plus a matching hat. The knitted attire was a very adorable change up from a typical string bean baby costume. We realized by the end of the shoot that this little girl looks way cuter in hats than we do!
As is customary for newborn photos, this session was photographed in the new parents’ home, which was very cute and had a happy feel to it as Kaylen and Kaylan beamed with new baby excitement! With the little one napping in mommy’s lap, the proud parents were able to steal a kiss before big baby yawns were in order.
The new mom’s outfits went so well with the simple yet modernĀ feel of the baby’s nursery. All the colors worked so well together. We especially loved the pop of color one of the newborn’s hat gave the images. The canary yellow was like sunshine against the white a tan spotted crib bedding. )Plus we’re sort of curious if they make such a hat in adult sizes!) Check out one of our Pinterest boards for newborn outfit ideas for these types of sessions.
We can already tell this baby is going to grow up in a house full of unconditional love. These two mommies and their baby make the most lovely little family .We’re starting to wonder what next year’s Halloween costume will be! Perhaps another kind of legume?
