Another balmy winter day provided us with great weather for beautiful Downtown Denver engagement photos. Being just two days before Christmas, an enchanting holiday feel was buzzing in the air around Union Station and Civic Center Park. We’re still not sure if it was coming from the bride and groom-to-be, or the busy travelers and last minute shoppers. If we had to guess, our money is on the gorgeous pair!
Engaged to be married this coming December at the McNichols Building in the heart of Downtown Denver, the stunning bride-to-be and her handsome groom-to-be snuggled, smooched, and intertwined their fingers. Kiki and Ret had a few outfit changes, all of which we loved. Her black, lace dress paired so well with Ret’s casual cream sweater and dress slacks. With busy people bustling from one place to the next, it was hard to miss the darling two sneaking a few kisses while sitting on a bench in Union Station.
The mix of urban architecture and Kiki and Ret’s modern outfits gave us beautiful Downtown Denver engagement photos. We moved from Union Station to a less crowded part of Denver, Civic center Park, and also on to a more formal outfit. Kiki wore a simple yet elegant white dress with a black fur shrug, while Ret swapped his sweater for a white button up. Though he’s deploying for the middle east, they didn’t let that weaken their smiles nor dim their excitement to be engaged.
Being the midst of the holiday season, lights and garland were aplenty, adding a little sparkle to the otherwise striped buildings. Their formal outfits only added to the coziness and warmth of the red lights behind them.
We cherish closeup shots of the ring bling, and this session didn’t disappoint! Kiki’s ring is beyond gorgeous. The shot of her hand in Ret’s with her diamond shining through between his fingers is adorable, and not to mention a perfect showcase of their love. Thank you, Kiki and Ret for showing us that there’s no better way to spend a nice winter day than with the one you love!
Frequently Asked Questions
When should we schedule our engagement photos?
We recommend scheduling 2-3 months before your wedding. This allows time for proofs and prints, and engagement photos can be used for wedding stationery.
How long do engagement sessions take?
Most sessions run 1-2 hours, giving us time to capture images at multiple locations and in different lighting.
What should we wear?
Choose outfits that reflect your style and feel comfortable. We recommend coordinating colors rather than matching exactly. Layers work well for outdoor Denver sessions.
Can we use engagement photos for announcements?
Absolutely! Many couples use their engagement photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites, and social media announcements.
What if the weather isn’t perfect?
Colorado’s weather can be unpredictable. We’ll work with you to reschedule if needed, or we can embrace the elements for unique, moody shots.
