Jordan and Nathan’s Lost Gulch Overlook engagement photography session was a breath of fresh mountain air. Our morning with these two was simply luminous! We get so excited when couples are willing to wake up bright and early to meet us at the top of a mountain. Is there a better way to start the day? The sun slipping up over the horizon and into the morning sky provided us with the perfect ambient lighting during the golden hour. Those first few hours of daylight are too romantic! We can’t complain about that beautiful scenery either. Classic Colorado!
Lost Gulch Overlook, located on Flagstaff Mountain, is in no short supply of expansive landscapes and stunning vistas. The Indian Peaks Wilderness area and Long’s Peak are two of the most breathtaking aspects of this particular location. As both can be easily admired from this romantic vantage point, we’re not sure if it was the altitude or the scenery that had us light headed. But even the view in the background had nothing on these two!
We’re still not sure how they managed to look this good after waking up pre-sunrise, but it sure made our job easier. We adored capturing Jordan and Nathan’s real and authentic affection for each other. The entire morning was bright with adventure, as well as peaceful quiet. We loved witnessing their beautifully natural moments, whether they were cuddled on a rocky outcrop or just staring into each other’s eyes. The final product was an array of unique photos perfectly highlighting the personality of the relationship Nathan and Jordan share. The love these two have for each other was profoundly apparent. Just look at those sweet forehead kisses!
Thank you, Jordan and Nathan, for letting us be a part of your journey! Your Lost Gulch Overlook engagement session was the perfect early morning wake up call! We are always willing to get up early to photography beautiful sunrise moments!
FAQ
What is your style?
Natural, artistic approach — combining candid authenticity with thoughtful composition to tell your unique story.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should we schedule our engagement photos?
We recommend scheduling 2-3 months before your wedding. This allows time for proofs and prints, and engagement photos can be used for wedding stationery.
How long do engagement sessions take?
Most sessions run 1-2 hours, giving us time to capture images at multiple locations and in different lighting.
What should we wear?
Choose outfits that reflect your style and feel comfortable. We recommend coordinating colors rather than matching exactly. Layers work well for outdoor Denver sessions.
Can we use engagement photos for announcements?
Absolutely! Many couples use their engagement photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites, and social media announcements.
What if the weather isn’t perfect?
Colorado’s weather can be unpredictable. We’ll work with you to reschedule if needed, or we can embrace the elements for unique, moody shots.
