Nestled in the foothills west of Denver, Evergreen Lake House sits at the edge of one of Colorado’s most picturesque alpine lakes. This charming venue combines the warmth of a historic boathouse structure with the dramatic backdrop of mountain peaks and the serene beauty of reflective water — making it a truly special location for photography.
What sets Evergreen Lake House apart is the way water becomes part of your story. The lake’s glassy surface creates mirror images of mountains and sky, doubling the visual impact of your backdrops. Just west of the foothills lays this idyllic Colorado staple. The Evergreen Lakehouse covers 55 acres of water and trees. There is a trail that wraps around the lake, then, at the west end of the lake sits the house. Furthermore, it has a gorgeous boardwalk! Having engagement and weddings here is the fantasy of all Colorado landscape lovers!
Family Photos
We have captured wonderful pictures here in all four seasons. Clearly, Evergreen Lake’s beauty is only enhanced by differing weather. In the calmer times, the reflection on the lake can double as a mirror and creates an enchanting effect. The Evergreen Lake House is also easily accessible, as it connects to the parking lot and is primarily flat.
The trail winds along a boardwalk, through a wetlands area, then towards town. If you are going clockwise around the lake, be sure to take the high path when you come to where the trail splits. The lower path can become difficult to navigate and is used for fishing. You can take the high path into town or over the dam and to the backside of the lake.

In winter, enjoy the world’s largest Zamboni-groomed outdoor ice rink, 8.5 acres with 12 hockey rinks and a huge skating field. In summer, boat and paddleboard rentals are available. The scenic path around mountain lake is usually where we go to capture your photo session.
